October 19, 2009- The American Anthropological
Association and publishing partner Wiley-Blackwell announced earlier today that
they would provide free access to over ten years™ worth of content from
AnthroSource, the premier online portal for anthropological
research.
Throughout the months of November and December, the
public at large will be able to access most AAA journal content published 1997
and later, including American Anthropologist, the association™s
flagship title. AAA members currently receive full access to AnthroSource as a
complimentary benefit of membership.
"AnthroSource is an amazing tool that allows
researchers and scholars to locate anthropological information with just a few
clicks," AAA Executive Director Bill Davis said in a statement issued today.
"It™s my hope that this two-month trial will attract not only anthropologists to
this service, but that it will also allow teachers, students, members of the
press and other interested parties in a vast array of disciplines to discover
just how valuable AnthroSource is to the scholarly community."
Free access will be provided through the
Wiley-Blackwell InterScience online platform, located at

effort will, hopefully, bring more attention to all of the wonderful ways
anthropological study contributes to the understanding of
