Village celebration in the mountains of Epirus 

 

Each year end of October, a beautiful celebration takes places in Aetopetra, small village in the mountains of Epirus. Local musicians and people gather and celebrate for hours in music and dance. For this occasion, Nikos Zekis (dancer originate from the same village) and Simona Jovic, invite you to Grece to assist to this beautiful festivity, but also explore traditions, music and dances of Macedonia and Epirus regions.

A trip that opens the heart !

 

This trip will be organised as a sort of "family trip". It will be filled with beautiful surprises, improvised festivities, interesting cultural visits, encounters with local dancers and groups and the beautiful celebration in which we will have the chance to experience the dance in the way the village people do : with lots of simplicity in order to enter the circle that energizes the body and nourishes the soul ! 


For all these reasons, it is open to a small number of participants !

                            Macedonia

Dance workshop - simple, but powerful group dances

The seminar will focus on simple, but very powerful group and circle dances that make dancing a beautiful and deep experience to share.



Nikos Zekis (Greece) 

Greek dances from Macedonia, Epirus, Pontus and Thrace


Simona Jovic (Serbia)

Dances from Serbia, Albania, Turkey, Romania & FYRO-Macedonia


The Epirus dances learned with Nikos Zekis will be the ones that the musicians will play and people dance during the village celebration. 


The seminar will focus on simple but powerful dances in which we become one in the circle that energies the body and nourishes the soul.

October 23 and 24, 2017 - THESSALONIKI

Seminar, visit of Folklife & Ethnological Musem, dance evenings with live musicians


October 25th - METSOVO

Encounter with local dancers


October 26th, 27th and 28th, 2017  - AETOPETRA & IOANNINA

Dance seminar, village celebration, cultural visits, singing in the nature, festivities


October 29th, 2017 - Back to Thessaloniki


October 30th, 2017 - Departure
